Resolution:
Log in to FortiNAC-C by visiting https://cm.wartburg.edu:8443/ in your browser.
Click on the Hosts tab, and then click Host View
In the upper right side of the screen, there are two search boxes, select the lower one, and type the user name to search for devices they already have registered.
If you are adding an adapter to an already registered device:
Double click the host to open the Modify Host dialog
Click Add under Adapters
Enter the Physical (MAC) address and be sure to select if it is Wired or Wireless
Click OK
If you are adding a new host to their account:
Click Add at the bottom of the screen
In the Add Host dialog, it is important that you specify the user. Host should always be registered to a user.
Give the Host a descriptive name.
Select the correct Device Type.
Click Add to add the network adapters
Click Ok to save
Note: It's very important that computers are correctly set as "Windows" for the device type. This ensures that FortiNAC enforces the anti-virus requirements and agent installation requirements. Never allow a computer be manually registered. Walk the user through the self-registration process.
Note: Sometimes a user will have an issue registering a Windows computer if they don't have Microsoft Defender up-to-date. It may be necessary for them to bring the device in to the help desk to update with a wired connection before the agent will allow the wireless connection.
