Start Here - Connect to the Network

Wartburg College has an extensive wireless network that provides students, staff and visitors with a connection to the internet while on our campus. For your devices safety and protection of the network as a whole, we have a registration process before connections can be made. Registration is completely self-service, enables access within minutes, and can be done 24/7. If you have any challenges or need assistance getting your device connected, you can reach out to our Techline (techline@wartburg.edu) for help.

Students/Faculty/Staff (Guests Click Here)

Wartburg College's network is protected with Network Access Controls. In order for your devices to be able to access network resources or the internet, they need to be registered.

Phones

Connect to the WC_Wireless wireless network on your device. Open a web browser and navigate to http://cmrc.wartburg.edu.

Select the option that pertains to you, Students or Faculty-Staff, from the registration page.

Enter your Wartburg user name (first.last) and password, then tap Download.

You now have access to the internet!

Laptop & Desktop Computers

Connect to the WC_Wireless wireless network on your device or plug an ethernet cable into an available wall port.

Your device will show that you are not fully connected. Open a web browser and navigate to http://cmrc.wartburg.edu.

You will need to agree to our terms of use in order to have access.

Select the option that pertains to you, Students or Faculty/Staff, from the registration page.

Enter your Wartburg user name (first.last) and password, then click Download.

Locate the Persistent Agent in your Downloads location and install the program. You will need the Agent running to have network access. If you un-install or disable the Agent, you will need to re-register in order to restore access.

  • For Windows users, the Agent will require you to have Microsoft Defender Anti-virus running and up-to-date. This is included for free with Windows. If you have a third-party anti-virus installed, it will need to be un-installed.
  • If you need help getting Microsoft Defender set up, contact the ITS Help Desk at 319-352-8767 or techline@wartburg.edu

Once the Agent is successfully installed, you will see it running in the lower right corner. And you are now able to access the internet!

Gaming Consoles, TV's & Smart Devices

Note: If you plan to use both the Wired and Wireless connections on a device, both interfaces will need to be registered.

You will need to use your phone or computer to perform the registration process. Connect both the device and your phone to the WC_Wireless wireless network and/or plug an ethernet cable into an available wall port.

On your phone or computer, open a web browser and navigate to http://cmrc.warburg.edu

Select the option for Game Devices (This is the same for TV's, Smart Speakers, Streaming Sticks, etc.)

  • Enter your Wartburg user name (first.last) and password
  • Enter the MAC Address for the device you'd like to use (See our article How to - Finding a MAC Address for instructions)
  • Select what type of device you are registering from the drop-down box, then Click Register
Your device can now access the internet!

Guests & Visitors

We offer free access to our wireless network for guests visiting campus. To access the network you must register as a guest. On your device you will want to connect to the WC_Wireless network.

Once you have connected, open your web browser and and navigate to http://cmrc.warburg.edu

Click on Self Registration Guest Access

Enter your information and click Request Guest Access
