If someone has recently changed their name or email address, you can edit your saved contact information for that person. You can use a web browser on your computer, or use the Contacts app on your phone.

Updating a Google Contact in Gmail on a Computer

Navigate to https://contacts.google.com

Locate the person you'd like to edit, and click the Edit Contact (pencil) icon

Make the changes needed, then click Save

Updating a Google Contact on an Android device

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Contacts app
Tap the contact you want to edit
At the top right, tap Edit (pencil icon)
If asked, choose the account
Modify the contact’s name, email, or phone number
Tap Save
